GO!
We are committed to actively
give authentic witness to what Christ has done in our lives.
MAKE!
We
are committed to follow the example of Jesus Christ in our lives by
becoming disciples and encouraging others in their journey of faith.
Central Scripture
for GO! MAKE!
Jesus
came up and spoke to them. He said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go, make disciples of all nations; baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to observe all the
commands I gave you. And look, I am with you always; yes, to the end of time.
-Matthew 28: 18-20
GO!
We
are committed to actively give authentic witness to what Christ has done in our lives.
GO!
Means actively demonstrating the love, mercy, and grace of Christ
through our actions and words. As individuals and a congregation
we must seek to relate to people outside the faith with dignity and
respect and offer to walk with them as they navigate their faith
journey. As a congregation, to GO! means that everything
we do we must be focused on the needs of those who aren’t here yet. Everything that happens before, during, and
after worship must be thought of through the lens of GO! To GO! means that
each of our ministries should be mission-focused and outward looking. To GO! requires focus, energy,
and drive, but the rewards of making GO! a reality will be knowing that we are participating in God’s
unfolding Kingdom. We all have a role to play and something to offer, we all must GO!
MAKE!
We are committed to follow the example of Jesus Christ in our lives by becoming disciples and encourage
others in their journey of faith.
To MAKE!
means that once we have received the gift of grace and experience the
transforming love of God in our lives, we begin a life-long journey of
faith. Each of our faith journeys are different and yet, we are
all striving to become more and more like Jesus, to become his
disciple. To be a disciple of Christ means modeling our life
after Christ, striving to live as Christ intended us to live. We
can do this by embodying the qualities that Jesus himself exhibited in
his life, ministry, death, and resurrection.
Compassionate, Loving, Merciful, Open-minded, Forgiving, Patience,
Kindness , Generous, Faithful, Humble, Authentic, Prayerful, Integrity, Sacrificing, Giving.
To MAKE! means being intentional and committed
to following Christ and modeling our life after his example. To embody these qualities and to allow MAKE!
to be a reality in our lives and in the life our of congregation we must practice the Marks
of Discipleship.
The Marks of Discipleship are not values
or beliefs we share, they are spiritual practices which move us closer to becoming the people God created us to be. To MAKE!
we must actively practice our faith, and the Marks of Discipleship
provide us with a clear biblical strategy for us to grow our
faith and deepen our commitment to God.
The Marks of Discipleship
Worship: Worshiping weekly.
Prayer: Praying daily.
Giving: Consistent and proportionate financial giving;
tithing.
Service: Regularly meeting the needs
of others, in our church
community and beyond.
Bible:
Reading and studying the bible regularly.
Spiritual Friendships:
A commitment to build up others spiritually.
As
individuals and a congregation, if we can commit to working on these
marks, God will bless us in incredible ways. If we trust in the
Lord, and can step out in faith, the Spirit will be present in our
midst in powerful and creative ways.
May God bless you, and may God continue to bless King of kings!
