We Are A Caring Community!

We really do care for each another here at King of kings. It’s not just something nice to say, but Christian love in action, expressed through our words and our deeds. If you need special prayer, a caring visit in the midst of a crisis, a hospital visit, a meal brought to your home, or counseling, we are here for you. King of kings is dedicated to helping and reaching out to you in your time of need.

And, not only do we care for our members, but we also strive to reach out beyond our four walls. We are dedicated to model the ministry of Jesus as in Matthew 25, to feed the hungry, give shelter to the stranger, clothe the needy and comfort the sick.

There are many areas that we help support in our community. We invite you to scroll down and take a look to see if there is something that you would like to be involved with.

At Christmas and at Easter we provide needy families and individuals with food, gifts, personal care items and Bibles. Local agencies and members refer people with special needs to us.

 Adopt a Veteran

We send valentines, birthday cards and other mail to Veterans who are permanent residents of the Veterans Hospital in Detroit.

Adopt A Road

King of kings has been permanently assigned 22 Mile Road (between M-53 overpass to Hayes Road) to have a yearly spring cleanup of this stretch of road.

Blood Drives

We provide three opportunities yearly to donate blood. We also provide helpers to support the Red Cross nursing team and assist our donors.

Clothing Collection

Once a year with MASTER Provisions, a Christ-based ministry, we collect clothes that are shipped to the impoverished in the Ukraine. We join with local area churches for a community wide outreach for a one-day event that consists of sorting, packing and loading clothes on a large semi-truck container.

Habitat For Humanity

A Christian housing ministry that works in partnership with people in need to provide simple, affordable housing. We have teams of people from our congregation who volunteer to help build, have devotions and serve lunches.

Compassion Pregnancy Centers

Compassion Pregnancy is a local, non-profit organization, which offers alternatives to abortion as well as assisting new and expecting mothers who are in a crisis situation. We have collections such diaper drives and have hosted a "Baby Shower" to collect items they are continually in need of.

M.C.R.E.S.T.

(Macomb County Rotating Emergency Shelter Team)

MCREST was founded to provide temporary shelter for homeless men, women and children in Macomb County. We help provide meals, laundry service, transportation, evening activities and other assists as may be needed and possible to provide.

Mission Trips

We are very excited to be sponsoring our second annual mission trip. Our first team went to Mexico to set up an eyeglass clinic and offer eye exams and eyeglasses. In October 2005 our group went to Jamaica to help build a church and work in a children’s orphanage.

Blanket Days

Once a year we partner with the Red Cross and have a blanket collection that goes to local homeless shelters.

Health Fair

Once a year we offer our congregation a free Health Fair that consists of a variety of different professionals from our community that offer information on health care. We have blood pressure and glucose checks from a nursing clinic, trigger point massage, a podiatrist, and many others who encourage a healthy lifestyle.

Family Independence Agency

We help children in Foster Care who are going back to school by collecting new backpacks filled with school supplies. We also have collected baby supplies for infants who have been removed from their homes and placed in foster care.

Crop Walk

CROP WALK, our community-based fund raising event, raise money for local hunger-fighting agencies as well as the international relief. Once a year our congregation collects pledges from friends, co-workers and family. It’s a great day of fun as they meet together at Stony Creek Park and walk to raise money to help end hunger in our world.
